We arrived in Chicago, picked up our extremely knowledgeable step-on guide and took a drive through Chicago, where she pointed out some of the "hot spots" of the 20's during the "gangster era" in Chicago. We then went to Tommy Gun's Garage, where we first enjoyed a superb lunch, followed by a fun 20's revue, but we first had to give the password at the door before being allowed to enter. 9.13.07: Our first trip with you was wonderful and will not be our last. Many thanks for arranging such an enjoyable day. Phyllis & Chuck 9.13.07: Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our day in Chicago yesterday. It was more than I expected and I loved the spontaneity of it. The fact that our guide was so versatile and showed us places we might never have seen was a bonus. The bus driver, Paul, was a wonderful driver and had a lot to offer to the enjoyment. It was even better than strictly "Gangsters". Thank you again for a wonderful time and I would recommend you to anyone that I think might be interested in wonderful, enlightening tours. Jan and Gale Merrick
Our waitress, Lola, was a sweetheart. All performers doubled in their duties, waiting tables, etc. before moving on to perform in the revue.
And the real fun part was when they pulled guests from the audience to come up on stage.
It was still early, the weather was beautiful and no one was in a hurry to return home, so we did a quick stop at Millennium Park before departing Chicago. What a magnificent additional to the downtown area of Chicago! Look at that breathtaking reflection of the skyline in "The Bean".
Below is the pavilion where free concerts are held.
The building in the middle housed Capone's favorite speakeasy in the dome at the top.
The building on the right is the new Trump Tower, still under construction.
