Taste of Home August 30, 2005 Upon our arrival at Greendale, Wisconsin, our first stop was lunch at Heineman's Restaurant, where we were seated in a lovely private room.
The across the street to Reiman Publications, America's "cook book capital" and publisher of Taste of Home, as well as many other publications. Upon our arrival, we sat in on a film explaining the start of Reiman Publications and its history. Then we were let loose to explore the Visitor's Center, featuring a Test Kitchen, many other departments of interest, and a store with unbelievable bargains on cookbooks and kitchen gadgets, only to name a few.
We then moved on to Racine Kringle to purchase some goodies to have when we returned home. Our third stop was Jelly Belly, home of the famous jelly beans loved by President Ronald Reagan. The last train through the warehouse had already been over, but the wonderful people at Jelly Belly put on an extra train ride, just for our group. We then had time to shop in the brightly colored shop.
We then departed for home to end an extremely fun-filled day!
