Progressive Christmas Dinner

December 3, 2004

Words can not express the loveliness of these 3 Historical homes in South Bend, but we feel the pictures will say it all.  We left the pictures somewhat large to show the impressiveness of these homes that, back in the late 1800's, helped to establish South Bend.

Our first course of wonderful hot mulled cider and starters were served at The English Rose on South Taylor Street, just off Historic West Washington Street.  The first picture is of the Innkeeper - Susan Kessler.  Her husband, Barry, gave everyone a tour of the home.

We then moved on to the lovely Queen Anne Inn on Historic West Washington Street for our superb main course.  The first three pictures is the Innkeeper, Pauline Medhurst, who told us of the complete background of this home.

We then moved to the next block on West Washington Street for our third course at Cushing Manor.  Susan Kessler, who is also the Innkeeper of Cushing Manor, served teas and coffee, a killer bread pudding and various magnificent cake type desserts.  Everyone was again given a tour of the home by Susan's husband, Barry.  The last two pictures below the Christmas tree are of the Gift Shop.

12.3.04 - Daisy Lawrence: Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

12.7.04 - Rita Schultz:  The progressive dinner was the most enjoyable evening I've had in a long time.  The inns were beautiful, the innkeepers gracious and the food was superb!  It was also a treat to be able to tour the sleeping rooms in two of the inns.  Thanks for a wonderful time . . . I'd do it again!
