Pigeon Forge & The Smokies

October 27 - November 1, 2006

We picked the perfect date for a color tour in the Great Smoky Mountains!  And as you can see by the picture of the traffic below the group picture, so did everyone else.

It seems we never get every person on a trip into the group picture.  A few had been to Dollywood before, so they stayed behind to do some shopping.

11.3.06 - I had a wonderful trip and really enjoyed the fall colors and the step on guide....she was great.  The tour of Biltmore Mansion is something I have always wanted to do.  The shows and the hotels were good as well.  Wish I had ordered ice cream at the Diner when I saw that banana split go by!!! My children want to know when I am taking them again.  They enjoyed meeting the people and riding on the bus. Linda M.

11.4.06 - Thanks for a great trip.   Helen S.

11.14.06 - I liked the shows and the food.  And I like you too, Becky.  Mike M.

11.14.06 - I had a great time on our vacation to the Smokey Mountains and the shows and I was glad to get to know you. We enjoy meeting new people.  I hope to be going on a trip with you again sometime soon.   Jen M.

Dollywood was beautifully decorated in all of the rich colors of fall.

Ann and I will never again listen to Nancy about there not being water on an indoor roller coaster - especially on a cool fall afternoon.  It literally took us hours to dry out, except for Ann, who was smart enough to wear a nylon windbreaker.

A little outdoor stage with some good entertainment.

One of the performers at the new Miracle Theatre was the greeter when we arrived for their evening show.  Also below are pictures of the beautiful lobby of The Governor's Theatre.

Most of the pictures are not great, being that they were taken while sitting in the audience.  But from the pictures, you can see the special efforts were far beyond our expectations.

Black Bear Jamboree Dinner Theatre is an entertaining production featuring song and dance, as well as some very cuddly bigger than life bears who helped narrate.

The Comedy Barn had to be the funniest show I have ever seen, and by the sound of the comments from everyone, they loved and said they would go back again.

The entertainers did a lot of interacting with the audience and bringing people onto the stage.  Thanks to Paul, our driver, one of our passengers and me were pulled onto the stage prior to the show.

Kathy, the step-on guide for our tour through the Smoky Mountains, had more knowledge in her head than one could imagine.  Any question asked, she had the answer.  We also had a nice picnic in the Smokies with perfect weather.

We then continued on to the Biltmore Estate.

We stopped for lunch one day at a cute little 50's restaurant.  We had to get Nancy with her ever-lovin' idol, so she, in turn, had to take a picture of me on the pink pony.

Dinner below at Mr. Gatti's.

Then on to The Smith Family Theatre.

The days were packed full of fun, adventures and entertainment.  Pigeon Forge is right on the heels of Branson, as far as having great shows and entertainment.
