2008 Trips Jersey Boys - March 20, 2008: We had 40 passengers who were thoroughly entertained with outstanding music of the era of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, as well as superb performances telling the story of this group from its beginning. Tunica Casinos - March 25 - 28, 2008: First of all, a huge thank you to Sue, who took some excellent pictures of the flooding in the area along the Mississippi River before arriving in Tunica. Notice how close the water is to the highway. And what a good looking group we had! Chicago Neighbor-Hood Tour - June 18, 2008: This was a quite interesting, unusual driving tour narrated by our step-on guide, John Binder, author of "The Chicago Outfit". The knowledge and wealth of information John had all filed in his head was amazing! I believe he answered every question that was asked of him on the subject. Michigan East Coast - July 21 - 24, 2008: A great breeze took us into the Saginaw Bay for an approximate 3 1/2 hour sail. The sky offered a spectacular sunset. Chicago Day Trip - August 6, 2008: TravelStarz has partnered with the Varsity Clubs of America to offer day trips to their time-share guests who have come to visit the South Bend/Mishawaka area from across the country and Canada. We boarded a wonderful group and headed to Chicago for the day. Boggstown Cabaret - August 7, 2008: I'm not sure I can adequately describe what a fun day this was and how much we laughed! After entering the town of Boggstown, Indiana, we were met on the road by 2 Boggstown "citizens" who gave us a greeting we were not prepared for, starting our day of entertainment. Devil in the White City - August 14, 2008: Our first stop was the site of the Japanese Gardens. Several people mentioned the serene feeling they had just walking through the gardens. Chicago still maintains the Japanese theme. Our guide Cathy answers a question that a couple of our 54 passengers posed to her. NASCAR - Michigan Speedway - August 17, 2008: Suddenly it occurred to everyone that Chad was guiding us onto the track itself. After driving down the straight-away, we exited at Turn 2, where he proceeded to guide us to the road, indicating to police that road blocks be removed so we could exit. It could not have gone any smoother or been more exciting! Chicago Cubs Game - August 21, 2008: What a marvelous way for families to bond and enjoy one another. Some of our passengers consisted of Grandpa and 2 grandsons; and Mom, Dad and 2 children - a boy and a girl. It's no wonder why we sold out and had a waiting list. Tunica & Cotton Farm - October 7 - 10, 2008: On Thursday, Susan Fernandez of the DeSoto County Tourism Bureau met us at the hotel to spend an interesting late morning and early afternoon at a cotton field in Hernando, Mississippi to learn the process of planting, growing and picking cotton. Eli's Cheesecake - November 6, 2008: It's always a fun day going to Eli's Cheesecake Factory in Chicago and gives our passengers the opportunity to buy some of the best cheesecakes around for the holidays. Rockettes 2008 - December 5, 2008: It was a cold and snowy, but very sunny winter day, so what better thing to do in December but go see the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. |
