8.18.08:  As usual you did good, and the trip was a success.  Chad ( track personnel) was very helpful and deserves a big pat on the back, and a big THANKS.  Looking forward to the possibility of a trip in June 2009.   Go Ryan in 2009!

We loaded all of our fans and we were off to the race!

After a bit of misdirection by the Michigan State Police directing traffic at the track, we arrived in the exclusive motor coach parking area, parked amid the drivers' semi tractors.  The passengers were able to do a bit of shopping when we first arrived.

Each passenger was issued credentials to enter the pit area before the race.  They were able to talk with team members, sign their name on the finish line and the walls in the pit area, and I think they may have even been able to kick a few tires.  ;- )

Nearby the bus parking area was the entrance to the High Banks Village, where we enjoyed a great lunch in a hospitality tent consisting of beef and chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, refried beans, cookies and soft drinks or water.  Beer was available for purchase. The white Hospitality tents are shown behind the car.

A short walk away was the entrance to the track.  Feedback indicated our seats were very good, being able to see most all of the track, with the exception of a few feet.  It was a good race won by Carl Edwards on a hot sunny day and most everyone returned to the bus showing they had been out enjoying a NASCAR race.

As all NASCAR fans know, exiting MIS can be a headache, but they sure did give us the royal treatment!  Chad, an MIS representative, hopped on the bus to thank everyone for coming, then got onto his golf cart to escort us out of the track.  Suddenly it occurred to everyone that Chad was guiding us onto the track itself.  After driving down the straight-away, we exited at Turn 2, where he proceeded to guide us to the road, indicating to police that road blocks be removed so we could exit.  It could not have gone any smoother or been more exciting!

Hope to see you on a NASCAR trip in 2009!!!
