Jefferson School
Shedd Aquarium
June 6, 2005

3 buses took approximately 150 students, teachers and chaperones to spend a splendid day at Shedd Aquarium for the Jefferson Intermediate School 6th Grade Field Trip.

Shedd Aquarium has done a beautiful renovation, as shown in the pictures below.  Unfortunately, due to school regulations, we are not allowed to show the students faces, so we have smudged out any faces that may show in the pictures.

A temporary tent was set up amid a beautiful garden at the entrance to Shedd Aquarium, where some of the students ate their lunch.

Teacher Mr. Ed Winchell and his wife Sandy stand in front a typical setting inside Shedd Aquarium.

The first picture below shows the seating area in the Oceanarium, where dolphins perform daily.  There is a duplicate third section to the right of this area, which is not shown.  Due to our digital camera having a 3 second delay, it was difficult to get shots of the dolphins while they were in the air.

A child from our school (center) was chosen to come up front with the narrator to "help" with a quiz.

The third section is shown below.

This setting is wonderful!  Lake Michigan lies outside the windows at the rear.

After the show, the students were free browse through the remainder of Shedd Aquarium.
